About Me
Hello! I'm Sam, the person behind Prim & Glad. I have been designing wedding stationery for over 15 years now, its always a real joy & honor when a couple chooses me to create the first impression of their wedding. I am based in Upholland, near Wigan in the North west but exhibit & post nationally. I am married (5 years this year eek) & have 2 children, Theodore who is 6 & Eleanor who is 5.
Prim & Glad is named after my mum (Primrose) & Grandma (Gladys).
I started out after being asked to create some invites for a colleague as they knew I was crafty, they were very traditional, ivory hammered card with gems & ribbon. I began experimenting with digital designs & really felt like there must be people out there who didn't want traditional & sparkly. Fast forward to now & I pride myself on providing whatever my couples want, I'm on a mission to show that you truly can have your wedding your way, yes even skulls on a wedding invite (shock, horror - winky face)!
I'm a massive geek, I love Harry Potter, Vampire Diaries, video games (mostly Spyro, Croc, Assassins Creed & all the Lego ones), sci-fi, fantasy, skulls, unicorns & rainbows. I truly have such an eclectic mix of tastes!
Exhibiting
This delightful photo was taken by my pals Emma & Rich from Emma & Rich Photography at the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza in Birmingham. I have been lucky enough to be an exhibitor at EWE for several years now, it is truly my spirit show & I highly recommend visiting if you're planning an unconventional wedding. I also head to The North West Wedding Show in Liverpool twice a year, organised by Bliss Events, its the north west's largest wedding show. You can find me camping out in The Curious Place which is a section just for alternative suppliers & couples.
Styled Shoots
Styled shoots are awesome & one of my favourite things ever. They are amazing days where several suppliers come together to create a fake wedding where the photos can be used as content to be published or for Instagram/blogs etc... I do several shoots a year, mostly with my wedding besties (i'll talk about them futher down). This photo was taken at a Zombie Wedding shoot where I got to be a zombie, it was so much fun. The make up was done by Ruth E Moulden who is a SFX & makeup genius!!
Til Death Alternative Wedding Collective
We are a group of four like minded wedding professionals who have exhibited together for many years, now very close friends, we came together to create Til Death to raise eyebrows in an industry of ivory ruffles. Firm believers that all weddings should allow the couple to express themselves fully and not content to see anyone compromise on their vision of the perfect wedding, our aim is to create a hub where wedding vendors can let their creativity fly and couples can be confident that their ideas will make us giddy with excitement. Keep an eye out for shows & other exciting happenings from us!
